My Story

I will be travelling to Zambia in June 2020 to partake in a housing project run by Habitat for Humanity, whereby we will participate in building homes for local people. I would gratefully appreciate any support that you can provide as each and every donation will make a difference. Your donation will help families build a safe and secure place to call home for a local family. Two thirds of people living in Zambia live on less than $2 a day and their life expectancy is 52.5 years. Due to the lack of affordable housing, about 70 percent of peopel living in urban areas in the country live in slums with inadequate access to water and sanitation. Habitat for Humanity run a number of programs in Zambia to address the housing and water and sanitation needs in the country, including house construction for vulnerable groups; installation of boreholes and water kiosks and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment training. A group of Tansition year students will also travel and we hope that we can make a life changing difference to the lives of one of the local families and we anticipate that this will be a life changing expereince for us too.

With Grateful appreciation
